How To Get Funky And Chic Short Curly Hairstyles

Short curly hairstyles are no longer a trend from the past, but actually a new look that is taking Hollywood by storm. There are many female celebrities that are starting to try out short looks with their curly hair, including Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani. Curly hair can be worn in a number of different ways, and those with short hair have just as many possibilities as those with long hair.

Hair just above the shoulders is a perfect length for those who have naturally curly hair, especially if the curls are naturally tight. It is still long enough that the front can be pulled up and supported with a clip, but short enough to hold the curls without looking frizzed. Females with straight hair can also achieve short curly hairstyles, since all it takes is a curling iron and a hair product to secure the curl. Hairspray or gel can be purchased for fairly cheap, or you may want to consult your hair stylist for a stronger product such as a wax. Use a small curling iron for tight curls, or a large one for large curls to add extra volume.

Anti-frizz spray can be used for those who have naturally curly hair, since it can help to keep the curls in place and look flawless all day. Bobby pins are also great for short curly hairstyles, since they secure the hair in any place and can hold onto it for hours after hours. Women with straight hair can prepare their hair with curling shampoo before using a curling iron, since it can make the hair hold the curls for a longer period of time.

Short curly hairstyles are great for women who don’t have much time to style their hair each morning, but still looks just as good as those with long hair. Short curly hair looks great when in business attire, ready to hit the club, or at home with the kids for the weekend. No matter the situation, short curly hairstyles will always look great.

Calvin Klein Biography

Date of Birth

November 19, 1942

Place of Birth

The Bronx, New York

Career

Klein was raised in the Bronx in a middle-class Jewish community; and after developing a fascination with drawing and fashion, he taught himself how to sketch and sew. He won a place at New York’s High School of Art and Design, and then went on to study apparel design at Manhattan’s Fashion Institute of Technology, where he met fellow student Jayne Centre. They married in 1964, two years after Klein graduated.

Klein set out to launch his own label in 1968, in partnership with childhood friend Barry Schwartz. They commissioned a local seamstress to make a few dresses and coats, and before long, a merchandise manager from the exclusive department store Bonwit Teller saw the designs and ordered $50,000 worth of stock, which were soon prominently displayed in their coveted windows.

Word quickly spread about Klein and his stylish designs, which began to be featured regularly in Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. This early success was accelerated by the introduction of his classic, trademark jeans, which he raised to designer status by cutting them tight and branding his name on the back pocket. Aided by a controversial advertising campaign that featured a young teenage Brooke Shields (“You know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing”), the jeans were an instant success, selling over 40,000 pairs every week.

By 1982, he’d decided to take on the underwear market, releasing a range of boxer shorts and briefs that provided chic under garments for both men and women. Klein followed this up in the late 80s with the launch of his new fragrances: Eternity and Obsession.

The label soon expanded further to include accessories, swimwear, hosiery, and eyewear, and a diffusion line, CK, was created in the early 90s. To date, Calvin Klein Incorporated exceeds $6 billion in annual sales.

Listed as one of America’s 25 most influential people by Time, Klein has helped shape the casualwear industry and played a key role in modern advertising. His ad campaigns have caused several storms of controversy, often featuring adolescents in sexually evocative poses.

Klein is the recipient of many industry awards, including the Council of Fashion Designers of America Award for outstanding design in both womenswear and menswear in 1982; the first designer ever to win both titles in the same year. His fans include celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts and Helen Hunt.

Now twice divorced, he has one daughter, Marci, from his first marriage.

Top Brands to Sell on eBay

One of the challenges of selling on eBay is knowing what to sell. You can wander around thrift stores, garage sales, clearance sales, and flea markets and the array of offerings can be absolutely overwhelming. How do you figure out what to sell on eBay?

First, focus on anything that was expensive when it was brand new. Visit high-end department stores either online or in person. Take note of the prices of the items. For example, Ferragamo shoes are around $300 brand new. These shoes hold their value on eBay. Many eBay sellers find these shoes for $5-$10 at thrift stores and resell them in gently used condition for $50-$90 on eBay.

Second, pay attention to vintage items. Baby Boomers love their vintage collectibles. Lunchboxes, rotary telephones, typewriters, belt buckles, ashtrays, and vintage lingerie are great sellers on eBay. You might be thinking, “Why would someone want an old ashtray?” Vintage items remind people of their youth and times gone by. Something as simple as an ashtray or a mug can bring back a flood of emotional memories. Cash in on vintage items!

Third, pay attention to current trends. Think about the hot movie in the theatres, the current fashion trends, or the celebrity that teenagers are going crazy over. For example, last year the Twilight movies were a major attraction. Items such as the Twilight books, t-shirts, specialty cosmetics, and posters were hot sellers on eBay. Teenagers have more discretionary income than other demographic groups, so pay attention to what teenagers are spending their money on.

Selling on eBay involves more common sense than you might think. Pay attention to what is going on around you and keep an open mind when choosing products to sell. Click here to download a free list of over 200 items and brand names to look for when selling on eBay.
